Dry Visit Baiae

The Underwater Archaeological Park of Baiae, near Pozzuoli (Naples), holds the remains of a fashionable resort city with a thermal spa located over volcanic vents. Here, the Roman elite built luxurious domus from late Republic to Roman Imperial period, but part of the town became submerged in the sea due to bradyseism activity.

Nowadays, most villas lie at the bottom of the shallow waters of the bay. Even if the remains are at about 5-6 meters deep, often there is low visibility.

Thanks to this app, now it is possible to explore the underwater site from all over the world. You can now dive into the archaeological park and explore the Villa with protiro entrance. During the exploration, some audio contents will provide some information about the structures and the story behind them.

Moreover, a special marker activates the hypothetical reconstruction that represents how the Villa appeared in Roman times. You will be able to navigate the rooms, admire the opulent furniture and walk into the huge garden.
